Obstacle Detection Sensors

Obstacle Detection Sensors (ODS), also known as anti-pinch sensors, are engineered to detect an object in its path. If an obstruction is detected, the system will trigger the immediate stop and reversal of the vehicle closure to help protect against potential injury or property damage. The growing popularity of automatic, hands-free open and closing features in modern vehicles has resulted in a higher demand for obstacle detection sensors. Cooper Standard, has been a leader in this space since 1995 and has successfully supplied more than 15 million ODS for use on over 45 vehicle platforms. ODS can be installed on various parts of vehicles, including power sliding side doors, vent windows, sunroofs, side flip windows, liftgates, and trunks.

Safe, Hands-Free Accessibility

Cooper Standard continues to evolve sensor technology to provide better protect and reliability. Our anti-pinch sensors detect when a person or object obstructs a vehicle opening as it closes, serving as a secondary safety feature to help prevent injury or damage in pinch-prone areas along closure paths.

Features:

Featured Solutions

TAPED AND PUSH-FIT

Taped on sensors or push fit sensors come in a variety of profile shapes/sizes to fit a multitude of needs. They can be mounted directly to the vehicle or a customized solution can be mounted to a retainer or weatherstrip for better interior aesthetics. Reach out and customize your application today!

PULL THROUGH SENSOR

Proprietary pull-through sensors are designed for a more "hidden" appearance and are fully covered by the surrounding weatherstrip. This option are often used in high visibility areas where the sensor will be in view of the consumer like a sliding door. Pull-in sensors are a convenient way to provide an all-in-one solution for better assembly and aesthetics.

CUSTOM FIT SOLUTIONS

Custom solutions can be designed for all types of vehicles to provide a functional, yet aesthetically pleasing product. This is accomplished in a variety of ways, including a custom fit retainer that the sensor mounts to for seamless integrating into the vehicle interior.
