Richard J. Freeland

Business Experience: Mr. Freeland served as president and chief operating officer of Cummins Inc., a global manufacturer of engines, power systems, and related components, from July 2014 to October 2019, prior to which he served in various senior leadership positions, including vice president and president of the Engine Business from 2010 to 2014, president of the Components Group from 2008 to 2010, and president of Worldwide Distribution Business from 2005 to 2008. Mr. Freeland serves as chair of the board of directors of Valvoline Inc. and serves on the board of directors of Hyliion Holdings Corp. and as a member of its Compensation and Technology Committees. He is also a member of the Advisory Council of Purdue University, Krannert School of Management. Mr. Freeland earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University.
